SIMILES

Similes compare one thing with another thing of a different kind.  Similes use 'as'  ---- 'as;.

-   As big as an elephant  .....................................    something is really large

-   As busy as a bee  ...........................................    someone is very busy indeed

-   As blind as a bat  ............................................    cannot see at all well

-   As gentle as a lamb  ........................................    someone is kind and gentle

-   As light as a feather  ........................................   something/someone is very light
                                                                                in weight

-   As cool as a cucumber  .....................................   someone is very calm
