THIS, THAT, THESE and THOSE
These are known as Demonstrative Adjectives and Pronouns. They tell us where an object is located and how many there are.
This and that are used to point to one object. This points out something nearby, whereas that points to something 'over there.
- That pen is yours.
- This is my pet.
- That dog is so cute.
- This pen is mine.
These and those refer to more than one object. These point to something nearby and those point to something 'over there'.
- These pens are mine
- Those pens are yours.
- These are my pets.
- Those dogs are so friendly.
